With a Minnesota state government shutdown looming at midnight tonight, I refuse to be pessimistic.

Okay, today I will not be pessimistic.  I refuse to be anything but optimistic that a government shutdown can be avoided.  I have to be…a government shutdown is going to cause just too much needless pain and hardship for some of the most vulnerable Minnesotans.

So today…its optimism!

After last night’s budget talks, GOP Senate Majority Leader Geoff Michel said that the GOP legislature and Governor Dayton are close on many of the issues.

That’s reason enough to hold out hope.

To keep my hopes up, I’ll be listening to “We are okay” by Joshua Radin.  Come on Minnesota–it is time to pull together for our elected officials.  Let’s get a budget deal done!
